The studio of Matthew Peterson. Websites, stores, apps, AI and
business systems — built properly, measured honestly and improved
for as long as they live.
Kaizen is the Japanese practice of continuous improvement. Small, deliberate changes, made relentlessly, compounding into something remarkable. Most studios launch your website and disappear. This one launches, measures and keeps improving it. Because a website is never finished — only better than it was yesterday

Services
Two ways to build.
Some businesses want AI woven through everything. Others want none
of it. Both are right — flip the switch and watch each service change.

The studio
One person. Every layer.
I build the systems behind better businesses.
I'm Matthew Peterson — a business-minded technical operator from
Pretoria, South Africa. For six years I've run customer relations,
operations and internal systems inside a growing education company,
built the web presence of a Canadian finance firm, and founded a
branding business of my own.
That mix is the point. I understand the customer conversation, the
process behind it and the code underneath — so when something breaks
between departments, I take ownership of the whole problem. No
account managers, no hand-offs. You talk to the person who builds it.

Seventh Star
Education · South Africa 2020 — Present
From customer relations to the leadership team of a
high-performance education company. I run onboarding,
subscriptions and support — and built the EOS and Notion
systems, CRM flows, WordPress platforms and hosting that
carry them.

The website behind a Canadian business-finance firm:
conversion-focused pages, custom components, video heroes,
carousels and animations — plus the deep technical
troubleshooting that keeps the leads flowing.
A complete company website for a South African logistics firm:
custom WordPress theme built from scratch, hand-tuned for speed
and technical SEO, deployed and cared for end to end.
My own branding and business-support company: positioning,
supplier networks, corporate branding from uniforms to signage,
campaigns and events. Create business, create success.

LSTM models, backtesting and the hardest lesson: teaching it
when not to trade. Aurora, an EOS business platform
designed in Next.js and Convex. Multi-agent AI tools. The deep
end, getting deeper.

Before you ask
The questions companies ask.
You do. Domain, code, content and accounts are registered to you, with full admin access and handover documentation. No lock-in, ever.
Every project is scoped individually after a free consultation, and you get a fixed quote before any work starts — no hourly surprises and no scope creep without your sign-off. The plans give you honest starting anchors: Launch from R12 000, Grow from R35 000 and Kaizen Care from R2 500 a month.
A sharp landing page: days. A full business site: two to six weeks. Stores, apps and business systems are scoped in the proposal with a clear timeline you can hold me to.
Yes — audits, rescues and rebuilds are common. I've untangled plugin conflicts, caching failures and logged-in-versus-logged-out bugs on live production sites. WordPress, Elementor and custom stacks alike.
Yes: registration, DNS, hosting setup, SSL and email routing — or I work inside your existing infrastructure and IT policies. I've run everything from cPanel to Kinsta, Docker and reverse proxies.
Kaizen Care: updates, security, daily backups and a monthly improvement cycle. Your site keeps getting better — that's the whole philosophy, and it's where most agencies disappear.
No. Everything I build works beautifully without it. Where AI would genuinely earn its keep, I'll show you the case first — pilot small, prove the value, then scale.
Pretoria, South Africa, working anywhere. Current work spans South Africa and Canada, so time zones and remote collaboration are already part of the routine.
Me. One person designs, builds, deploys and supports your project — with a direct line by email, WhatsApp or calls. No account managers, no telephone game.
Practical best practice: SSL everywhere, hardened permissions, backups, minimal tracking by default and POPIA-aware forms and data handling.
2020 — Present · Head of Customer Relations · Leadership Team Member
A high-performance South African education company — sciences, mathematics and pathways into medical studies — running online and contact programmes on the Entrepreneurial Operating System.
Customer & operations
Onboarding, registrations, subscriptions and payment support for every customer journey
Email and SMS communication systems for programme launches and follow-through
Complaint resolution, retention and cross-department coordination
Business systems
Notion workspace across seven departments — Leadership, Academic Development, Service Delivery, Platform Development, Sales & Marketing, Finance & HR and Customer Relations
EOS structures: accountability charts, scoreboards, recurring meeting rhythms and quarterly tracking
Templates, documentation and hands-on employee adoption
Technical
WordPress platforms, CRM functionality and customer access support
Troubleshooting across the full stack — from browser to server
The kaizen part: I started in customer relations and earned my way onto the leadership team by taking ownership of every problem that crossed departments. The systems I built run the company's daily operations.
A Canadian business-finance firm — invoice factoring, asset-based lending, equipment loans, DIP and M&A financing. I treat their website as a business platform: every component must build trust and generate leads.
Conversion builds
Homepage hero: full-screen video with fallback-image logic, overlay treatment, two-line headline and an animated image-grid alternative with device-specific layouts
Infinite services carousel — three visible cards, endless loop, mobile truncation and conversion CTAs
Referral programme page: pipeline infographic, scroll-driven line animation and slide-out WPForms CTAs
Responsive accordions, success-story pages, popup forms and blog styling
Engineering & detective work
Custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript inside Elementor Pro and Astra; assets served via GitHub and jsDelivr CDN
Diagnosed site features that worked for logged-in admins but failed for visitors — traced through jQuery loading, plugin conflicts, asset optimisation, caching and Astra update complications
Resolved browser-specific and device-specific video playback and CDN delivery issues
The kaizen part: the site is never "done" — components are measured against lead flow and continuously refined. Two of them are running live in the workbench section of this page.
Founded 2026 · Branding, marketing & business support
My own company: a one-stop branding partner built on the idea Create Business, Create Success.
The offering
Corporate branding, uniforms, promotional products, gift sets, signage, PPE and branded footwear
Campaigns, golf days, events and venue sourcing
Websites, social media and content — the digital arm
The model
A vetted supplier network — Amrod, Barron, Lauren Blue, Brand Mania and others — delivering a wide product range without owning a factory
Serving SMEs, corporates, schools, government and non-profits
The kaizen part: founding a company means owning strategy, positioning, supplier relationships, quoting and delivery — the same commercial thinking I bring to every client build.
